Madeline and Cole’s Cozy Neighbhorhood Engagement Session

There’s something so special about engagement sessions that take place right at home — where life already feels full and familiar. Maddie and Cole invited me to their house for the first part of their session, and it was the sweetest afternoon just hanging out in their space, laughing in the kitchen, and soaking up that early summer sunshine in their backyard.

After spending time at home, we wandered around their favorite neighborhood spots along Division Street — one of my own favorite stretches in Portland. We stopped at Wellspent Market and ended the evening at The Richmond Bar for a drink, capturing little in-between moments along the way. It felt like such an easy, joy-filled reflection of who they are together: laid-back, connected, and completely at home in each other’s company.

Some of my favorite film frames from their session:

This session was shot on a mix of digital, 35mm film, 120mm medium format, and Polaroids — a blend that felt just right for the cozy, documentary vibe of the afternoon. Maddie and Cole’s wedding is coming up later this fall, and if their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be such a heartfelt, beautiful day.
