Kate and Ian’s Vintage-Inspired Late Spring Wedding at The Griffin House

Kate and Ian’s May wedding at The Griffin House was a dreamy blend of elegance, romance, and vintage charm, with thoughtful personal touches woven throughout the day. Set against the dramatic cliffs of the Columbia River Gorge, their celebration was effortlessly stylish and joyfully heartfelt from start to finish.

Their sweet bulldog Angus was the unofficial guest of honor, greeting loved ones before the ceremony and making rounds during cocktail hour like a true VIP. Guests were welcomed with pre-ceremony cocktails from Proof’s adorable mobile bar, setting a relaxed and festive tone for the day.

The ceremony unfolded with sweeping views of the Gorge, and every moment was captured through a mix of digital and analog formats—35mm and medium format film for that soft, timeless texture, Polaroids for instant nostalgia, and dreamy Super 8 footage (shot by my husband Brian) that added a cinematic layer to their story. This blend let us document their day in a way that felt both artful and true to the energy of each moment.

The groomsmen swapped traditional florals for antique brooches—an unexpected detail that felt perfectly in step with the couple’s vintage-meets-modern aesthetic. We’re fully on board if this becomes a trend.

Some of my favorite film frames from this wedding:

As the evening unfolded, guests had a blast in a retro bus photo booth and sipped drinks under the twinkle lights. Kate changed into a vintage-inspired two-piece silk set for the reception, topping it off with a baby blue faux fur coat and matching glasses that sealed her status as the coolest bride. Her look, just like the whole day, was chic, playful, and totally her.

Every part of Kate and Ian’s day felt intentional and full of personality, and it was such an honor to preserve it all through lenses old and new.
