Mia and Kaleb’s Snowy Engagement Session in the Columbia River Gorge

Mia and Kaleb in the snowy Columbia River Gorge, shot on 35mm film.

Some engagement sessions feel like pure magic, and Mia and Kaleb’s winter session in the Columbia River Gorge was exactly that. When we saw snow in the forecast, we decided to shift our timing in hopes of catching a snow flurry—and we did! The soft snowfall transformed the rugged landscape into something straight out of a dream, making their session feel even more cinematic and timeless.

Photographing on the Washington side of the Gorge gave us the perfect mix of epic views and quiet, intimate moments. With the cliffs and evergreens dusted in fresh snow, every frame felt like a piece of art. Mia and Kaleb embraced the winter chill, laughing, running through the snow, and soaking in every moment together. Their connection was effortless—no stiff poses, just pure joy and love unfolding naturally.

I captured their session on a mix of film and digital, letting the grainy texture of film bring an extra layer of nostalgia to their story. The way the snowflakes softly blurred in motion and the way their laughter echoed through the quiet landscape made this session feel even more special.

Some of my favorite film frames from their session:

There’s something about winter engagements that feels so cozy and romantic. Whether it's bundling up against the cold or catching tiny snowflakes in your hair, it makes for the most beautiful, intimate moments. If you're dreaming of a winter engagement session in the Pacific Northwest, let's chase the snow together.
