Madeline + Gavin’s Mt Hood Engagement Session

Madeline and Gavin are the epitome of Pacific Northwesterners, with adventurous spirits and nature-loving souls. Their Mt Hood engagement session had all the Pacific Northwest weather, from snow, fog and a little rain. At every turn these two reframed the experience as an epic story to tell later. I couldn’t think of a better attitude to have for your photos!

Madeline and Gavin’s Mt. Hood engagement session was as iconic and epic as can be, featuring both Yocum Falls and Lolo Pass Road

These two have been together for 8 years, but you could just tell that everyday together was still fresh, exciting and new for them. I loved that they wanted some shots in their rooftop tent, where they spend almost every weekend adventuring together with their pups, one of which just joined their family the week prior! It was a completely natural way to incorporate who they truly are and what they are passionate about. If that wasn’t Oregon enough, their bright Pendleton blanket, a PNW icon, really brought it all home paired with a speaker and instax camera. A small nod to home that I simply adore!

We didn’t have to go far or off the beaten path for an iconic view of Mt Hood.

When the first spot we had chosen was snowed in, we picked a new one, right off the side of the road and then trekked through snow to get to the falls later on. We had a great adventure! It’s so important to remember that your session is more about the two of you and your love, rather than the background. In Oregon we are so lucky to have views just about anywhere. Madeline and Gavin were up for anything and that spirit shows through in their photos. Going with the flow is key to a session that has that candid and easy vibe, and these two brought all the best vibes!
