Kathryn and Alexandr’s Woodsy Elopement on Mt Hood

Mt Hood is home to dreamy forest, cozy cabins, and endless memories. For Kathryn and Alexandr that is exactly what brought them to Oregon for their elopement—they came all the way from Texas! Talk about a change of scenery. The dream setting for Kathryn and Alexandr was a fairytale woodsy elopement on Mt Hood. They wanted their entire experience to feel like they were stuck in a fairytale book and getting that happily-ever-after ending! I was honored they chose and trusted me to capture this whimsical day of theirs. Showing them the Mt Hood National Forest was an amazing privilege and I reassured them that they 10000% chose the right spot.

Kathryn and Alexandr’s elopement was special from the start and incredibly intimate. I loved how much care went into the planning of their day. They were surrounded by just three of their close friends, one who was local and two who came in with them from Texas. I almost felt as though I was intruding on one of their hangouts because of how intimate this setting was. But, that is what made this elopement stand out. They wanted to share this moment with people who they truly loved and I can’t think of a better experience for them to share together. Not to mention, Kathryn and Alexandr chose one of my all time favorite spots in Mt. Hood, The Welches A-Frame

The Welches A-Frame is iconic and I love how Kathryn and Alexandr utilized it for their wedding day. Kathryn got ready downstairs while Alexandr got ready upstairs. They then had their first look on the stunning front lawn of the cabin. This cabin has dreamy windows to allow natural light to drip into the living space and feels so homey with the natural wood touches, plants, and cozy furniture.

On top of a stunning location, Kathryn and Alexandr chose some incredibly talented vendors! Trellis Flowers did an AMAZING job bringing Kathryn’s bouquet vision to life. It was a beautiful deep burgundy and red bouquet with lush flowers that fit the setting perfectly. Their cake by Fat Cupcake was deliciousssss and beyond adorable!

I loved watching their ceremony and capturing this special moment. They had a pastor come in to marry them along the Salmon River Trail in Mt Hood National Forest and then proceeded to celebrate with their friends in the cabin. While the ceremony was beautiful I couldn’t help but favor the time they spent with their friends back at the cabin. After they said “I Do” Kathryn and Alexandr cut their cake and shared champagne toasts with their friends. I was honored to be there and hear all the sweet words their friends shared. It was so clear that everyone in that room had endless amounts of love for these two!

Before I left this amazing crew I pulled Kathryn and Alexandr one last time to capture some portraits of them at Trillium Lake. These photos are hands down some of my favorite and I am incredibly happy they let me steal them away for a second before heading off to dinner with their friends!

Being surrounded by love and in such beautiful locations is a gift. I can’t believe this is my job! Seriously I love all of my couples so much. Intimate celebrations such as Kathryn and Alexandr’s elopement on Mt Hood remind me how important true love is. To see these two spend such an important day with their most-important people was an honor and I wish them a lifetime of joy!
