Mt Hood Elopement at Little Zig Zag Falls | Chelsie + Myles

Chelsie and Myles, you two will forever hold a special place in my heart! Your fairytale Mt Hood elopement at Little Zig Zag Falls was filled with all the magic of a fabled love story and all the quirk of two fellow nature lovers. We didn’t get the snow we hoped for at the falls, but a spot in the woods marked by only lanterns and candlelight was everything we needed to celebrate your 10 year love story.

Chelsie had originally reached out to me in the fall on Instagram asking my advice on Mt Hood elopement spots during the winter. Since that’s my favorite season AND my favorite place, I had lots of ideas! My main suggestion was Zig Zag Falls, which they checked out in person and absolutely loved! Chelsie’s mom then reached out to me and asked if she could book me as a surprise for Chelsie and Myles. Obviously that was a big YES! I sent Chelsie a little package to open on Christmas announcing the surprise, and their reaction was everything I could have dreamt of and more!

With an aisle full of rocks, moss and forest roots to traverse, Chelsie appeared in the woods making her way to Myles in a beaded blush gown and hiking boots. I overheard guests whispering how much her unique dress choice suited Chelsie and I couldn’t love her for it any more! We both share a deep love of the green, mossy forest – and also our glasses! I love a bride in glasses! Their whole Mt Hood elopement ceremony was so emotional and filled with love. They had friends set up their spot in the woods, officiate, play music and even video their day. Chelsie’s aunt even did the flowers. I loved seeing everyone come together to celebrate love and especially these two! They were showered in petals as they recessed down their forest aisle adding to the joyful woodland ambiance. Pro tip – dried petals are an eco-friendly way to dress up your send off or recessional!

Post I do’s, we headed up to Mirror Lake trailhead since we didn’t get the snow we hoped for at the falls. Chelsie and Myles popped champagne and soaked in the Oregon winter white until they were sent off as Mr and Mrs!
