Lyndsey + Cassidy's Woodsy Elopement in Oregon

When a couple wants to go the non-traditional route for their wedding day, I am always on board! That is something that draws my soul to elopements, they truly are unique and special in every way. A highlight from Lyndsey and Cassidy’s day was adding a whole new vibe to their elopement with film. Brian Brose captured the most beautiful moments with Super8 film, and the result is pure magic. The film video and photos are vibrant and elevated with color, which contrasts beautifully with my moodier true-toned photography style. I just love that you can see two different looks into their wedding day. For all my vintage-obsessed film lovers, be sure to keep an eye out for the film stills below β€” you’re in for a treat!

Lyndsey + Cassidy’s Woodsy Elopement in Oregon

Now let me tell you about Lyndsey and Cassidy’s romantic and woodsy elopement in Oregon. These two wanted their day to be designed as uniquely as their love: low stress and incredibly special. Spoiler alert... it was! Their relationship was a gradual slow burning love, but once ignited they knew it was something special. When reflecting on the moment these two knew each other was β€œthe one” Cassidy remembers watching Goosebumps late at night while eating popcorn on the couch at his house; Lyndsey remembers feeling compelled to write poetry about her love for Cassidy. The romance is REAL.

getting ready

Our morning started with Lyndsey and Cassidy getting ready at the Golden Antler Chalet, an Airbnb that just oozes mid century modern vibes. Their sweet pup Reggie was invited to be a part of their big day, wearing the most adorable mustard bandana! Lyndsey, (who used a sustainable florist) pinned Cassidy’s boutonniere and they were ready for a few pre-ceremony photos.

the ceremony

Something I won’t forget is how they took polaroids of each other right before the ceremony started. The pre-ceremony giddiness was real! Lyndsey stayed true to herself by wearing a long sleeved simplistic gown (choosing the perfect dress was her favorite part of the whole planning process!), a beautiful veil, and her glasses to complete the look. We love a bride with glasses! Cassidy looked dapper in his deep brown suit and black tie.

They chose to elope with just a few close friends present at their quaint ceremony along the Old Salmon River Trail, then a reception was held following the ceremony so they could celebrate into the night with family! We had all been to the Old Salmon Trail previously; however, that morning we decided to explore as a group in order to find the perfect ceremony spot among the towering trees, ideal for this woodsy elopement in Oregon!

With their closest friends and family waiting, Lyndsey and Cassidy walked down the aisle TOGETHER! It was so amazing to watch them walk through the deep forest to the special spot where they would soon share their vows.

the celebration

After an intimate and beautiful ceremony it was time to celebrate! Lyndsey and Cassidy wanted all of their friends and family to join in on the fun, so they popped champagne and sparkling cider so even the non-drinkers could partake with some bubbles! They eloped early in the day, so while I was off with the newlyweds taking portraits their friends and family were back at the house preparing brunch. How sweet is that?

cake cutting

When we returned to the Airbnb Lyndsey and Cassidy signed their marriage license and it was officially official! A petite vegan wedding cake was perfectly on theme with their vegan brunch. Seeing these two cut that adorable cake was such a treat, literally! I just love how personal every detail was and how they kept the celebration very intimate with those same guests who were at their ceremony. With such a tight knit group of friends and family, you could really see how comfortable Lyndsey and Cassidy felt. This day was all about their love for each other, and not so much about the glitz and glam of a wedding!

Being a part of Lyndsey and Cassidy’s wedding day was such a joy. Seeing how deep these two love each other and how much their close friends and family adore their relationship was inspiring. Honestly, I wish we could go back and do it all over again!
