Julia and Lorenzo’s Lush JM Cellars Wedding

Julia and Lorenzo’s August wedding at JM Cellars felt like stepping into a hidden garden tucked just outside the city. One of my favorite things about this venue is how unexpected it feels. It has the character and atmosphere of an urban winery, but instead of wide-open vineyard views, you’re surrounded by towering trees, ivy-covered spaces, and little pockets of nature everywhere you turn. Around every corner, there’s another quiet path, tucked-away garden view, or cozy space that somehow feels both intimate and expansive at the same time.

Their ceremony took place in JM Cellars’ lush garden space, where guests were surrounded by layers of greenery and late-summer blooms. The entire day felt rich and immersive in the best way, with green woven into nearly every detail. Julia and Lorenzo leaned into a palette of deep wine reds and fresh green tones that felt especially fitting for a winery celebration. Green grapes appeared throughout the design, adding texture and a subtle nod to the setting, while rich burgundy tones brought warmth and depth to the day.

One of my favorite design moments was the reception setup. Instead of a traditional ballroom dinner, guests gathered around beautiful long tables set up outside in the drive, creating the feeling of an intimate dinner party under the trees. There’s something about long tables that instantly changes the energy of a reception. Conversations stretch across the table, guests feel connected, and it creates a sense that everyone is sharing one experience together rather than sitting at separate islands throughout the space. As the evening light shifted and candles began glowing, it felt like one of those moments you want to bottle up and keep forever.

JM Cellars is such a dream venue for couples who love nature but also want a more refined, elevated feel. It manages to feel tucked away and peaceful while still offering a polished winery atmosphere. The variety of spaces throughout the property also creates so many opportunities for portraits without ever needing to leave the venue. From ivy-covered pathways to tree-lined corners, every part of the property adds something different to the story of the day.

Some of my favorite film scans from their day:

Julia and Lorenzo’s wedding was photographed using a blend of digital photography, film, and Polaroids to preserve the day in a way that felt true to the atmosphere around them. Film has a way of holding onto the softness of late summer light and the richness of colors like deep burgundy and green in a way that feels especially nostalgic. Their Polaroids added little tangible snapshots throughout the day — imperfect, immediate moments that always end up becoming some of my favorites.

A little garden romance, a little dinner-party magic, and a setting that somehow felt hidden away from the world for a day. August weddings like this one are hard to forget.
