Madeline and Cole’s Chic Modern Wedding at The Arc Light Oregon City

Madeline and Cole’s modern chic wedding at The Arc Light in Oregon City felt like the perfect blend of elevated design and unfiltered joy. They were married in early October, when the light softens just enough and the city feels a little quieter, and everything about the day leaned intentional, stylish, and deeply personal. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a celebration where personality led the way.

Madeline wore the chicest silk sheath dress paired with a neck scarf that felt timeless and fashion-forward all at once, while Cole kept things classic in a black tux that grounded the look beautifully. The Arc Light itself offered an incredible range of visual textures—deep black interior walls, giant white concrete exteriors, and clean architectural lines that acted like a built-in canvas. One of my favorite details was the red pool table, which became an unexpected color anchor and inspired bold pops of red woven throughout the day.

The ceremony and reception unfolded in a serene, cream-colored ballroom layered with sculptural florals by Kismet Floral. The design stayed soft and refined, with warm neutrals setting the tone, while carefully placed hits of red—from the signage to the cake—added contrast and personality without overpowering the space. It felt modern, calm, and artful, yet never precious.

Throughout the day, I documented Madeline and Cole’s wedding using a mix of 120 medium format film, 35mm film, and Polaroids alongside digital. The softness and depth of medium format film felt especially fitting for the serene ceremony and sculptural floral design, while 35mm allowed me to move quickly and intuitively as their energy filled the room. The Polaroids added an instant, nostalgic layer—imperfect in the best way—and felt like tiny artifacts from a day that moved fast and was meant to be fully lived.

Some of my favorite film frames from their wedding day:

What truly made the day unforgettable was Madeline and Cole themselves. They showed up at a solid ten all day long—fully present, wildly excited, and unapologetically goofy. Their energy was contagious, and it translated so effortlessly into their photos. They laughed hard, moved freely, and weren’t afraid to be playful, which is exactly what creates images that feel alive. I wish everyone could give themselves that same permission on their wedding day.

Later in the evening, Madeline changed into a mini dress made for dancing, and we slipped away for late-night flash portraits at the bar—one of The Arc Light’s most striking features. The deep black stone, illuminated arched shelving, and moody lighting created the perfect backdrop for bold, editorial-feeling images that still felt true to the joy of the night. It was the kind of ending that matched the day perfectly: stylish, high-energy, and full of heart.
