Bridal Details Checklist | What To Include in Your Getting Ready Details

Helloooo 2022 brides, are you ready for the big day? I am so thrilled to start diving into this wedding season, but I wanted to make sure we all had a little chat before things got too crazy! If you’re one of our 2022 brides I know you’ve spent hours planning the big day and the nerves may be kicking in. This is such an exciting time and I want you to enjoy every moment. But, I also know that there are some details you may be forgetting to consider when planning the day. It’s no surprise that weddings come with long — and what seem like endless — to-do lists. At the start of wedding planning, you began creating a guest list that you narrowed down and down and down again. You attended catering and cake tastings, dress fittings, and more. You have had a lot on your plate and I totally understand if you’re ready to close your eyes and wait for the big day to come. But, weddings are full of tons of little details that you may not realize you are forgetting!

The elements incorporated into your wedding day are ultimately up to you and nothing is required. However, there are some details you may want to consider incorporating into your wedding day to add that final touch of love. Let’s go over a few details that you can add onto your bridal details checklist to make sure that your wedding day is everything you’ve ever dreamed of!

Travel Back In Time

Family heritage is a beautiful thing, and very important to many families out there. If you want to honor your family's history there are so many beautiful ways to do so. A sentimental touch you can add to your bridal details checklist is displaying heritage photos — your grandparents wedding photo, your parents wedding photo, etc. With a touch of floral and candles this can be a gorgeous and easy addition that your family members will absolutely adore! Some other fun ideas would be bringing your parents or grandparents wedding invitations for styling, including your grandmother's jewelry or perfume, and more! If you have a special item that you hold near and dear to your heart, ask your florist if they’re able to attach it to your bridal bouquet; this is a great way to keep the item close to your heart as you say “I Do.”

Timing Is Everything

Even if you are at your wedding venue for 10+ hours, the day is going to fly by and you’re going to wonder where the time went! I can’t express how important planning your timeline ahead of time is. Be sure to check your timeline with your photographer and any other vendors who may need to follow a detailed schedule of events with you. You’ll want to plan your timeline down to the hour (no need to go minute by minute) but make sure you know where your day is going. This will ultimately help you reduce the stress of not knowing what is going on, and will also allow your vendors (and anyone involved in the wedding) to have an idea of how they can expect the day to go. When finalizing your timeline, go ahead and make your photographer extra happy by adding an additional hour ahead of time for them to get some detail shots. At the moment this may seem like a minor piece of the wedding puzzle, but trust me you’re going to love these images years from now! One easy way to compile all of these items on your bridal details checklist is by gathering them in a shoebox or shopping bag for your photographer to grab ahead of time. They’ll be able to snap detailed shots of your jewelry, invitations, ring boxes and more!

Ask For Additional Florals

Your wedding florist is most likely dropping the flowers off at your venue the day of the wedding. And, you’re probably one of the multiple stops on their list! When planning ahead of time with your florist go ahead and ask if they can leave a few extra stems of each flower at the venue. You never know what you might need them for! Flowers are the best way to carry your wedding theme throughout the day through things such as cake floral and invitation styling. But, these backup blooms could also come in handy if there is an emergency floral situation where you need to replace a few stems here and there! Accidents happen so it’s better to have these on standby. Plus… who doesn’t want to have MORE flowers? Personally, I can never get enough of wedding florals!

Details are what pull the entire wedding day together. You’ve poured hours and hours into planning, so be sure to give yourself the icing on the cake and add for these small but mighty touches to your bridal details checklist. Your guests will notice and you will absolutely love the fact that you incorporated them. Family members will be filled with happiness seeing the heirlooms, your photographer will love you for allowing them the additional time for detailed shots, and you will be thankful to have a couple of extra flowers at the end of the night.
