When I think about Kylee and Justin’s wedding day all I want to do is cry happy tears!! The joy was palpable from the second I walked into the house where Kylee was getting ready (blasting Taylor Swift, of course) to the moment the last sparkler went out as their adorable VW bug convertible drove off into the night. I’ll never forget Justin delivering his vows to Kylee in a southern accent to make her laugh, or the way that they danced to “Lover” for their first dance, exaggerating the choreography like they were just two kids with the world as their stage. Dinner was pizza from Bellagio’s because they wanted something low stress so that they could just spent all of their quality time with their guests. And I mean come on who doesn’t love pizza?? Justin smashed all of the cake into Kylee’s face, and she was delighted because she wasn’t wearing any makeup that could have gotten messed up! It was a day full of spirit, promises, whimsy, love, joy, and DANCING. All the things you want in a summer wedding day, and these two deserved it all <3
The whole wedding day at Horning’s Hideout was a fairytale come true in the Oregon forest. The venue was decorated with fluffy pampas grass and vibrant toffee roses galore thanks to Knot and Fern, a rug-lined aisle designed by the bride, handmade wooden arches by the groom, all of the macramé of your dreams all made by Paper and String, signs and calligraphy by Made By Prestyn, and incredible rentals like peacock chairs from Vintage Meets Modern. Their boho decor was so beautiful, but also carried extra special value, honoring special people in their lives—like the macramé wings made in remembrance of the bride’s father.
Kylee and Justin, I love you through the waterfalls and back. I am so grateful that I got to document this crazy, wonderful season for you two, and to pray alongside you as you went through it. Also in case anyone else was thinking it—Kylee are you going to plan weddings now?? Because I would totally trust you with mine, girlfriend!!!
