Christmas tree farms are a special place for Austyn and Matt. It’s where Matt first told Austyn that he loved her, and a year later, it’s where he proposed. They even had a Christmas tree as a part of their ceremony last fall when they got married. So doing a snowy couples session at a cozy Christmas tree farm was the obvious choice for these two!

I think it’s SUPER important not only to have engagement photos and wedding photos at the beginning of your marriage to document the big milestones, but to take the time to document the sweet, smaller steps of your relationship as you grow. So anniversary sessions once a year are an amazing way to connect, play, and just have a super fun special day with your spouse.

We got hot chocolate first (it was free!!!!) and said hello to the sweetest baby goats, sheep, and cows by the cut trees before grabbing a saw and heading off to cut our tree down. I was barely even ready with my camera when these two ran off into the deep snow and started a snowball fight IMMEDIATELY. We had so much fun catching up, finding the perfect tree, playing NSYNC Christmas music, and stumbling through the snow the whole way through.

We might have had boots full of snow by the time the sun went down, but we grabbed another hot chocolate and melted candy canes into our cups while sitting by the fire to warm up. It was 100% worth the wet socks on the drive home. 10/10 would recommend.
