Austyn and Matt's Colby Farm Sunflower Engagement Session | Boston Wedding Photographer
Austyn and I go way back to high school in Virginia— we actually met in chorus class in 2007!. While we weren't friends (we were in different class years), she reached out after getting engaged to chat about photographing their wedding. We spent an hour on Skype catching up on the 10 plus years since high school. It is beautiful to see how our lives have grown into what they are now! Austyn met Matt while in North Carolina and had an instant connection. They recently moved to New Hampshire with their sweet dog and are tackling all of the fun and unexpected parts of being new homeowners. When they aren't competing in Tough Mudders together, they love refurbishing furniture.
While their save the dates had already gone out, we wanted to get to know each other better, have fun, take a break from wedding planning, and spend some quality time in their New England home. Colby Farm in Newburyport was the perfect backdrop, with their huge beautiful sunflowers!
It was SO DANG HOT, like 100 degrees hot. We spent a decent amount of time sitting among the sunflowers to get a bit of shade. Gosh these two were just a ton of fun. Matt had so much picking up Austyn and every time he did, he then insisted he get a piggy back ride. Their favorite photos are of them being goofy together, which let's be honest are mine too. To cool down we ended up at Plum Island, splashing around in the water.
Austyn and Matt, thank you for reconnecting with me and allowing me to further be a part of your story. I can not explain how much I enjoyed goofing off among the sunflowers, eating corn off the cob and riding off into the sunset with you. I am overwhelmed by the lives we are both leading and how easy it was to become friends again after all these years. I ca not wait to see your love continue to grow. Also, girl can you please give me all your secrets because you are #fitnessgoals.
