Shannon and Adam's New England Apple Orchard Wedding | Boston Wedding Photographer
Adam planned a backyard wedding like no other. That's right, the groom planned 99.9 percent of their wedding and it brought me pure joy seeing the proud groom during the day of the wedding. Shannon and Adam weren't sure if they would have a wedding photographer although one month before, they reached out and (per fate!) it was the one Saturday in September I had available. I highly (basically require) that I meet my couples before their wedding day so we are better acquainted and with little time before their big day, they invited me over for an epic grilled dinner at their house in Billerica where, in two weeks, they'd be hosting their wedding!
I met Shannon, Adam and their bridal party at their house the morning of the wedding as that is where they wanted to get ready. Only two weeks had gone by and yet their home was completely transformed. Tents had been pitched in the backyard, Adam had strung up string lights, and nearly everything constructed, crafted, and arranged themselves. The transformation that backyard wedding dreams are made of. After their ceremony, we went down the road to Griggs Farm for portraits in the Orchard (and an amazing greenhouse), then returned to the backyard to party all night. The details planned blew me away, even down their wedding band being of importance to Providence College where they had originally met. Adam's favorite detail was an RSVP card signed by the one and only Barack Obama as he had mailed their wedding invite to the White House!
Shannon and Adam, I still can not believe that the one weekend I had free was the weekend of your wedding and I am so overjoyed it worked out. Adam, you have set the bar extremely high for grooms moving forward. You and your friends were especially kind to me, treating me less like a random vendor and more as an important part of your day. Thank you! I'd come over for steak, chicken and tuna again hands down and I'd for sure party with you and your bridal party any day of the week. See you this weekend?
xo,
Mads
