Jillian and Alex's Bridal Veil Lakes Wedding | Oregon Wedding Photographer
Would you canoe in your wedding clothes? One of the coolest parts of Jillian and Alex’s wedding venue, Bridal Veil Lakes in the Columbia River Gorge, is the canoes that the briide and groom and their wedding party can take for a ride. But. because Jillian and Alex downsized their wedding list to just immediate family and a few friends, everyone got a chance to take a turn with the canoes at sunset, and it was one of the most joyful scenes I’ve ever witnessed in my dang life!! Everyone got to act like kids again, while in their fancy clothes, with the most incredible signature cocktail made with local peaches in hand. What could be better??
Another iconic part of their day was the bold and whimsical floral arch crafted by Noble Floral Co. I was SO happy when the ceremony area got shady right before things got started—standing in direct sun is not only uncomfortable, but not ideal for photos. This blessing of shade meant I could capture way more detail of their emotional ceremony, and then we obviously had to use the arch as the backdrop for their wedding party and family formal photos. She also crafted a gorgeous flower crown for Jillian, and decorated the dining tables for their intimate lakeside reception, making the gorgeous summer day feel like a real fairytale.
After and incredible sunset in the gorge, they played lawn games into night with their families while eating all the cake they wanted—what could be better??
