Amalie and Conner's Lush Garden Wedding at Portland's Abernethy Center with a Cozy Backyard Reception | Oregon Wedding Photographer
Amalie and Conner know how to bring joy to every single moment together, so even when their summer wedding plans changed because of COVID19, I never once doubted that they would have the time of their lives on their wedding day. No matter what it looked like, they would still get married, and that’s all that mattered. Although they had to downsize their guest list to just family, they were blessed with being able to keep their venue at Abigail’s Garden at The Abernethy Center and host a Zoom for friends and family not present. The incredible coordinators there have been working tirelessly through the pandemic to help their couples celebrate at their original venue on their original date, while also planning new receptions for them next year. I can’t say enough how wonderful that is, and I can’t wait to celebrate Amalie’s and Conner’s one year anniversary there next year with all of their family and friends! Steve from A Beautiful Ceremony NW officiated a beautiful ceremony with a wine box tradition, Michael Blake provided music, and Peggy of Island Girl Floral Design delivered Amalie’s bouquet and Conner’s boutonniere—all will be joining us all again next year as well!
After their ceremony and family formal photos under the property’s gorgeous evergreens, we moved to Amalie and Conners home for the coziest backyard reception with their family. They decorated their yard with picnic tables, garlands of greenery, a dance floor, twinkling lights, and floating candles. It literally glowed as the sun went down and family members shared toasts that made us all cry. Amalie and Conner danced to “Lover” which made me cry extra hard in particular, and cut their pink champagne cake from Fat Cupcake. And of course, the big finale, their wedding reception was catered by Porque No Taqueria—one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Portland, and where Amalie and Conner had their first date over tacos and spicy margs just a few summers ago. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day for these two.
Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness and spicy margaritas!
