Tiffany and Tom's Adventurous Lava Field Couples Session in Bend | Oregon Wedding Photographer

I'm so excited to share another one of my Nomadic November adventures with y'all! I never thought when I started photographing couples that I would find myself scaling lava rocks in Bend, Oregon during an epic sunset, but here we are.

When planning out my wedding season, I knew I wanted to end the year with a mentor session. Instead of wrapping up a year of hard (and hectic!) work by slumping on the couch in a Christmas stupor, I wanted to engage with another professional who could celebrate with me and point me in the direction of areas I could improve on in the off season.

Enter Dawn Charles, who I was lucky enough to spend a day with in Bend, Oregon. I've used her presets since they debuted, and have followed her work for so long, it was a little surreal to finally meet her in person. We spent the first half of the day talking business, then drove over to the Lava Land’s for an adventurous couples session with Tiffany and Tom before ending the day with tea and editing and cozy chairs. It was exactly what I needed y’all. Dawn provided great insight into what I was doing well, and gave me a lot of practical and concrete tips for immediate changes I could make. Asking for help is scary and vulnerable, but it’s something I’ve never regretted. Dawn I am so grateful for your kind and generous spirit, thank you for taking the time to get to you know me and run around a lava field while you were 8 months pregnant!
