Olivia and Mac’s Alki Beach Engagement Session
Get ready to swoon, because the sun is finally back out in the PNW and Olivia and Mac’s engagement session has a golden hour feel that's sure to make your heart flutter. Picture this: Alki Beach, the first really warm day of spring, and a couple so head-over-heels for each other, it's like they stepped straight out of a rom-com. Add some champagne and film, and we had everything we needed for a perfect Seattle engagement session.
When Olivia and Mac reached out to me to capture their engagement and wedding, I knew we were in for tons of fun. They had such a clear vision for their wedding day and how they wanted to spend their engagement session, and it was so fun getting to know an area that was so special to them when they first started dating.
Now, let's talk about their vibe more – romantic, nostalgic, vintage, natural, and all things film. Super8 film, 120mm film, 35mm film, Polaroids – you name it, we shot with ti! And let me tell you, incorporating their love for the film aesthetic into our session was an absolute blast. It was like stepping back in time and capturing moments that feel straight out of a vintage movie reel.
And can we talk about the sunset for a hot second? I mean, it was the first truly magical one of the season! With the Cascade Mountains in the distance and the sky ablaze with color, it was like the sun itself decided to put on a show just for us. Olivia and Mac were completely in the moment, twirling and laughing as if they were the stars of their very own romance film – and let me tell you, they absolutely nailed it.
But the fun didn't stop there! We made our way to one of their favorite breweries on the peer, where the city lights twinkled like stars against the night sky. Since the sun had set and the bar had neon lights in the background, I used my 120mm film camera to take a few shots of us there at the end of the night. The film flash mixed with the retro lights were a perfect fit, and the cold beers were a great end to a warm, spring day.
