5 Ways To Make Your Intimate Wedding Personal + Unique

Weddings come in all shapes, sizes, colors, styles, and more. This is what makes each and every wedding unique, personal, and so much fun! Just because you’ve decided on a small elopement or intimate wedding doesn’t mean you have to compromise your dream in any way! So go ahead, dream big and make your wedding day YOUR wedding day! There are so many simple and fun ways to personalize your elopement so that it really feels like you. What do you say… are you ready to dive into a few of my favorite ways I've seen couples make their elopements unique? Let’s get started!

Personalized Invitations

Just because you may have decided to forgo a big wedding doesn’t mean this event is any less important. Send your favorite people custom invitations with your elopement date and ask them to RSVP so you know who to plan for! This will be the first taste your guests get of your wedding day, so be sure it is true to you and the style you’re wanting to reflect on your big day!

Make the Ceremony Meaningful

This is the moment everyone is here for. Take some extra time to think about what you could add to your ceremony that will take it to the next level and make it feel personal and truly custom. Something I love to see is when couples write their own vows and share them privately with each other or in front of their closest friends and family. It is such an intimate and meaningful moment, and typically there is never a dry eye in the house! Incorporate your favorite colors, flowers, and/or other elements that may be important to you and your partner. You can even add personal touches to your ceremony such as programs detailing who is in the wedding or a little blurb about your love story. The options are endless, but the time you put into this will make all the difference!

Meet at YOUR spot!

This is the day you’ve been waiting for. Pick a spot that means the world to you, it could even be the place you met! Again, this is your elopement and there are no rules. Maybe your first date was at a certain bar, go there for pre-dinner cocktails! Or maybe you met along a hiking trail, take a morning hike the day of your wedding. The options seriously are endless! This day can be as personalized as you would like it to be.

Create a wedding weekend (or week) itinerary

More often than not elopements include a destination; so, if your guests are coming in from out of town create a list of what they can expect out of the weekend! In that itinerary, you can even add some personalized recommendations for your guests to enjoy such as your favorite coffee shop in town, great shopping or food locations, and more! Another amazing way to create a unique experience for your guests is by planning multiple events throughout the day. These events can be made up of different locations that define your love story.

Find a photographer and a planner you trust

Having someone who knows the ins and outs of elopements in your corner is going to make every step of the way so much easier. They will be there to give you ideas when you’ve hit a wall. Seriously! We’ve seen everything and would be more than happy to provide you with ideas on how to make your elopement even more personal.

As a photographer, my goal is to document the big moments and all the little bits and pieces of perfection in between that really make each day special. I want to help you plan an elopement that is special, unique, and feels true to your love.

I could go on and on about the incredible weddings and elopements I have seen over the years, but I want to make room to add some of YOUR details to my list! I would love to learn about your love story and what has inspired you to elope, submit an inquiry and let’s chat!
