Kiki and Michael's Autumn Walden Pond Engagement Session | Boston Wedding Photographer
Kiki and Michael first introduced themselves to me as makers, and I was immediately hooked. As an artist, I live for hearing other artists talk about their craft and I’m particularly obsessed with Kiki’s modern handmade jewelry and pottery. I’m also obsessed with Kiki’s salt and pepper diamond ring, which they are the first to introduce me to.
For their engagement session, we went to Walden Pond on a weekend in November for a autumn woodsy engagement session to capture all the fall leaves. Walden Pond was a favorite spot to go swimming for Kiki growing up, and she’d been dying to share it with Michael who had never visited. Having lived in Boston for nearly 9 years, I had only visited two weeks prior and I promised that I wouldn’t use Henry David Thoreau quotes when I posted their photos but broke that promise immediately when posting to Instagram. I mean “all good things are wild and free.” Dang it, did it again.
It was an unseasonably warm day for November in New England, so the pond was a little more crowded than we would have liked, but still found plenty of opportunities to break off on a different trail and find more secluded corner’s of the pond.
Kiki and Michael, one of the best things about working with couples is seeing what each partner brings out in the other. As we made our way around the pond, admiring the foliage and stopping for photos every now and then, Kiki, I loved seeing the way your introversion gave Michael different perspectives, and Michael, all the ways your extroversion was able to bring Kiki out of her shell. Individually you are each other’s own type of artist, and together you are an unstoppable creative force. I am so excited for your Aldworth Manor wedding next year!
