In their inquiry, Lisa and Ryan mentioned that they loved visiting national parks and drinking whiskey….instantly I knew we were going to all be soul mates­. Since they love to spend their free time exploring the outdoors, I suggested doing a camping style session at one of my favorite spots — Getaway cabins.­ Getaway allows you to escape to tiny cabins just north of Boston (and NY, Atlanta, DC and LA) that are perfect for getting off the grid and spending some peaceful time in nature without going too far away.­ I met them at our Getaway cabin on a drizzly morning, sharing coffee by the fire while flipping through their national parks book, looking at all the stamps they’ve collected and reminiscing on their favorite hikes.

Despite the drizzle, we kept the fire going, hung the hammock up without any trouble and took some additional photos. ­ When the rain picked up we hopped back inside the cabin, changed and hopped in the car to go to a nearby trail.­ We explored the epsom town forrest — blown away by all of the gorgeous New England fall foliage.­ Just when we thought about turning around we stumbled upon a lake, having to explore a little more. I’m so glad we did.

Lisa and Ryan, thank you for going along with my crazy idea and bringing me camping with you.
