I talked to Emily and Karl on a Friday and they eloped that Monday. There’s nothing I love more than a little spontaneous love, especially since these sweethearts have been together for FOURTEEN (!!!) years— since high school.

After two years engaged they were done with planning questions and just ready to be husband and wife. I accompanied them and their parents at Boston City Hall where they tied the knot, followed by a stroll through Boston Commons and around Beacon Hill to complete their Christmastime elopement. If you haven’t seen Beacon Hill at Christmas, I highly recommend you add it to the top of your bucket list. Each gaslit lamppost is decorated with real garland and red ribbons, and every door is adorned with a wreath, ornaments, ribbons and birch. It made this festive elopement even more cheerful, and I am so glad Emily and Karl invited me along for the ride.
