Austyn and Matt's Historic New England Codman House Wedding | Boston Wedding Photographer
Austyn and I met in high school and were able to reconnect to shoot her engagement and wedding. Seriously, you have to check out their engagement session among the sunflowers not only for the back story but for the inspiration. These two are crazy in love and have the best time together. From the handmade details to the best gals around to the insane dancing, I couldn’t get enough. One of the hobbies Matt and Austyn developed together as a couple is refinishing furniture. They brought vintage pieces with them in their move from North Carolina to New Hampshire and made sure to incorporate vintage furniture into their wedding.
Austyn and Matt had a historic New England wedding like no other. The ceremony took place on the steps of the Codman House in Lincoln, MA. A first for the venue, as ceremonies are usually out back. Austyn arrived on a horse and carriage and after being announced as husband and wife, departed on the horse and carriage. Austyn made most of the signs, table pieces and other decor herself. The girl’s got serious talent. Their day was full of handmade details, from the boutonnieres that had rosemary from their garden, to the bridesmaids jackets Austyn embellished with each bridesmaids name. When thinking about presents for your bridesmaids, these are an insane present. Who wouldn’t want a custom jacket?
To make their wedding even more personal, they included a Christmas tree ceremony. Yup, you read that right. A Christmas tree ceremony. Austyn and Matt’s first date was Christmas tree shopping, their first I love yous were while Christmas tree shopping, and their engagement happened while Christmas tree shopping. They poured dirt from each of their hometowns and from their new home in New Hampshire, in with the seedling to plant in their yard.
Austyn and Matt, thank you thank you for including me in this special season of your life. It was beautiful to see how connected yours siblings, parents, and aunts uncles and cousins were on their wedding day and it was obvious how incredibly hard you have worked at blending your families. You’ve built an incredible support system and I was so lucky to be welcomed into your family for a day.
