Ulyana and Chris's Stoughton Wedding | Boston Wedding Photographer

When you meet Ulyana and Chris, it's immediately apparent how important their families are to them. I was introduced to Ulyana through her brother, Yehven, and sister-in-law, Amy, who I met through my church community. I knew a little about her family's heritage (their family moved from Ukraine to Massachusetts when she and her brother were little) but I received a full crash course in Ukrainian traditions on their wedding day. From small touches, like hundreds of traditional cookies that looked like walnuts and hundreds more shaped like mushrooms, to large gestures, like at the reception when the bride donned her veil on each single woman to dance with her and bless her, Ulyana's Ukrainian family traditions were perfectly woven into this day.

And that was all before I was introduced to Chris's Haitian family and their AMAZING dance moves. The back and forth of Ukrainian quick ballroom-style dancing mixed with the high-energy Haitian group dances was mesmerizing. These two and their families left it all on the dance floor-- not a bad way to warm up on a November evening in New England.

Ulyana and Chris, it was such an honor to capture your wedding day and to celebrate your commitment to each other in Christ. Seeing your day from start to finish was such a joy-- I can't get over the big smiles you both had on every minute. I had a blast getting down with you two on the dance floor, thank you for closing out the wedding season with such an amazing party! It was one I'll never forget.

All my love,
Mads
